<p>Erik Berglund, M.D., Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Transplantation Surgery with extensive drug discovery and clinical development experience. Dr. Berglund´s expertise spans therapeutic areas including transplantation surgery, tolerance induction, xenotransplantation, autoimmunity, immuno-oncology, machine perfusion and biomaterials. He has authored more than 35 peer-reviewed publications and 16 patents.</p>
<p>Trained at Karolinska Institute and Karolinska University Hospital, Dr. Berglund specialized in transplantation surgery, immunology, and oncology. He has served on the faculty of Columbia University Center for Translational Immunology, has been a member of the scientific committee for the European Society for Organ Transplantation, and has consulted the European Commission and Swedish Government on transplantation. Dr. Berglund earned both his medical and doctorate degrees from Karolinska Institute, has been the recipient of multiple awards, and is a frequently hired speaker. With over 12 years in drug development, he has contributed to several early and late-stage pharmaceutical companies as a founding executive and strategic advisor.</p>
